As many of you know , it can be a challenging and often isolating experience as a prison wife. It has felt at times like the world was against me, and that I'm carrying the weight of my family on my shoulders. (who can relate?) In these difficult times, having faith in God has been my #1 source of strength and comfort.
Being Aligned with my husband spiritually while he incarcerated is essential to navigating this life as well. Allowing God to be the center of my world especially during this time, has helped both of us to stay grounded and focused on what truly matters, despite the many obstacles that we face during his time away. It has also provided a sense of shared purpose and meaning, which is a powerful bond in any relationship.
Without God, it can be easy to feel lost and adrift in a situation when you and your partner cant be together. But with faith, you can find the courage and resilience to face each day with hope and determination. You can trust that God is with you, guiding you through the challenges and helping you to overcome them.
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” When we trust in God and align our hearts with his will, we can find the strength and wisdom to navigate even the most difficult of situations, including being a prison wife.
Ultimately, having faith in God and prioritizing your health and wellness are interconnected aspects of navigating life as a prison wife. By cultivating a strong spiritual foundation and taking care of your body and mind, you can find the strength and resilience to face whatever challenges come your way, and support your partner in doing the same.
